Both Mr. Feliciano and Miss Urbano outshined the other candidates as they showcased their glitz, charm, and eloquence during the pageant night. When asked about what he felt after winning the pageant, Mr. Feliciano responded “I feel so glad because it is my first time to join the said pageant. I also feel grateful because I was able to showcase my talent and skills, which helped me become a better version of myself.”
Moreover, Miss Urbano shared her mindset as a candidate of Mr. and Miss PUNP and said “One thing that resonates my heart is that, don’t think about this thing (pageantry) as a competition. All you need is to be friendly, try also to inspire them, that if they have their own advocacy they can actually promote it to other people.”
During an interview, she also mentioned about her advocacy which is Environmental Awareness. “I want to influence everyone to invest in Environmental awareness, because it is aligned with my own advocacy since I am an Eco-activist back when I became the Binibining Kalikasan before, uhm aside from the CLAYGO Policy; it would be a great way that we conduct Friday Clean-up drives. I think we would be a good example to other universities not only here in Tayug but as well as here in the Philippines”, Miss Urbano stated.
Other candidates also stood out such as Mr. Mark Anthony Palado of the College of Computer Studies (CCS) and Miss Divine Grace Montealegre of the College of Teacher Education (CTE) who were awarded 1st Runner-ups; Mr. Diosdado Saguiped of CCS and Miss Christine Faith Pajela of CBME as 2nd Runner-ups; Mr. John Aaron Obra of SBE and Miss Shiena Shine Bince of CCS as 3rd Runner-ups; and Mr. Kenneth Castulo of College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) and Miss Cyrha Flora of SBE as 4th Runner-ups.
The chairperson for this year’s Search for Mr. and Miss PUNP 2020 is Mr. Samson Ubaldo. During an in-door interview, Mr. Ubaldo said that it was such a great opportunity and chance to be part of the pageant especially that he acted as the chairperson. He also added that being the chairman needs a lot of hard work, patience and determination because you need to mold the candidates to become role models to their fellow students.
“As the chairperson, I was challenged because of the diversity of the candidates. Despite their differences, however, I was able to help them work together with harmony and at the same time, we were able to build friendship”, Mr. Ubaldo mentioned. “I am so happy because I was able to change them (candidates). They are indeed my trophies or accomplishments”, he added.
