BSIT Students join the Microsoft Global Student Summit

Microsoft Student Summit is a 3 day event designed to help students LEARN from  Microsoft executives, EXPLORE the latest on Microsoft technologies and  ACCELERATE their path by skilling up and raising their profile (Microsoft). The 3 days summit was from October 19 to 21. It started with empowering Welcome Messages mostly from Microsoft women hosts followed by executive women insights from different well-known IT companies. The first day was a starter package that focused on giving tips and tricks in rocking LinkedIn Profiles. The college’s freshmen registered their first LinkedIn accounts and followed through the discussion on how to effectively and professionally use their accounts. This includes growing good connections and exploring the site as a job opportunity platform by discussing how to manage and create resumes in LinkedIn. Next to that was a discussion on Getting Stated with AI followed by a Cram Exam on Azure Data Fundamentals in the afternoon. The second day was a very techy and hard skills discussion day which focuses on the Core tools for Dev Career. The speaker, Miss Sana shared about Git and GitHub and how effective it is for coding collaborations. Mr. Christopher, another speaker, demonstrated web programming flexibly using the Visual Code. Some  of the students were inspired and have followed him in YouTube for more programming video demo. In the afternoon, Sir Wilmar Motea, CCS faculty member, led his Networking class in participating the Exam Cram in Security Fundamentals. The summit was fully packed designed that focused discussions on how to get started, what are the skills that needs to acquire and harness, lastly how to ace interviews and land a job. Some of the topics  focused on how to Jumpstart a career and aspiring insights from guests who are responsible in the screening/hiring of applicants starting with finding and defining your passion, what you really want to be, understanding yourself leading to pursuing your career path. There were tips on how to effectively use the STAR method in answering questions in the interview as well. The third day ended with an Exam Cram in Power Platform Fundamentals.
