The Basic Education Department successfully celebrated the Buwan ng Wika with the theme “Filipino:Wika ng Saliksik” last August 28 at PUNP Auditorium. The theme recognizes Filipino language as a medium for the recreation and dissemination of national wisdom and development. Through the theme, the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) intends to spread the Filipino Language in various fields of wisdom, especially in science and mathematics.
Different houses namely the Blue, Red and Yellow house contested against one another in different competitions. Among the competitions held were Pagsulat ng Sanaysay, Mural for the Senior High School, Poster Slogan for the Junior High School, Isahang Pag Awit, Dalaahang Pag Awit and Sabayang Pagbigkas.
After long and intense competitions, winners were announced immediately. For the Blue House, Ms. Aislinn Mae Garcia won the Poster Slogan-Junior High School Category, Ms. Crystal Pearl Videz awarded as champion for Pagsulat ng Sanaysay and Ms. Louise Ashley Abella bagged the title for Isahang Pag Awit. Further, the Blue house also got the award for Sabayang Pagbigkas.
The Red House on the other hand got the awards for Mural making – Senior High School Category in the persons of Ms. Kaye Rodrigo, Mr. Jogn Ray Agpasa and Ms. Fernalyn Ramos and Dalawahang Pag Awit in the persons of Ms. Melody Quejada and Ms. Mary Angelyn Quiming.
At the end of the competitions, the overall champion is awarded to the Red Mighty Lions.
